On Sunday we will hear about the healing and resurrecting powers of Jesus. They are wonderful to hear about, read about, and learn about. But sometimes hearing about Jesus' healing brings doubts to our minds: Why doesn't He heal ME faster? Why didn't He heal MY relative who was sick? How should I really pray for healing?
In an email devotion that he sent out, Dr. Dale Meyer, the president of Concordia Seminary in St. Louis wrote: "Perhaps the most practical spiritual insight I've learned over the years is that we understand more about God when we look back and in hindsight see what He was doing. We seldom understand what God is doing now. So the follow-up to not understanding now is...wait. God will make it clearer in due time. 'When Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about Him.' Loosen the grip on your own interpretations; wait on the Lord."
Don't understand how God is handling your healing or illness...or that of a loved one? Wait on the Lord. He always works things "together for good." Speaking to a member this week who is dealing with physical ailments she told me the one thing that keeps her going is: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Pray for Mt. Calvary, that all the members of our church would experience God's physical and spiritual healing according to His will and in His good time! Bring others to church at Mt. Calvary, where they will find healing for their soul! Tell others about a God who heals!
