"This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it" (Psalm 118:24). I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the teachers and staff at Mt. Calvary for their hard work and dedication to their students. They excel in their teaching skills. I am proud to be a part of Mt. Calvary's student body and class of 2009. Thanks to all the teachers and staff, I am now ready to continue my journey into my future. Thank you all once again.
During my eight years at Mt. Calvary my faith has grown stronger. The most important person in my life is God. his number is the only one that answers every time, I never get a busy signal, nor ever have to pay a dime. With the help and support of my family, friends, teachers, staff, and coaches, I am confident that I will succeed. They have given me sound advice, shown good examples, and held me accountable for my words, actions and thoughts. And I have also learned that I have to make the right choices even if it is not the easy, cool, or fun thing to do.
In my time at Mt. Calvary, I have learned that I have to work hard for my grades. "Failure is not an option." Saying something is too hard is setting yourself up for failure. My strong points are: English, Reading, and Science. I will continue to work hard, knowing that one day my goals will be fulfilled.
People have told me I am a strong leader, but the way I see it, "I look upon myself as a team player." I look for the good in people, not the bad. Putting a smile upon their face brightens my day. And in my career choices, I pray, someday I will make a difference. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding" (Proverbs 9:10). I believe in one God, the Lord, the giver of life. Jesus died and rose victoriously over sin, death, and the power of the devil. I believe God is coming soon and I will cherish the moment He arrives.
I have set high goals for myself. "Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars." I plan to graduate from high school and college, earning a degree in the medical field. I will be financially stable, not having to struggle to eat or provide for my family. I want to be spiritually wealthy and be a living witness about God's never failing love and mercy. "A person may plan his own journey, but the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9).
