To me, baptism is something that God gives us to save us. There are so many benefits that we receive when we get baptized. When we take part in the Lord’s Supper we partake of the body and blood of Christ in, with, and under bread and wine. God instituted these sacraments for us.
Baptism cleanses away my sins, and gives me a new chance. I was welcomed into God’s family as His child. To me, you should get baptized as soon as possible so that you can be accepted into God’s family right away. As Titus 3:5 says, “He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the holy spirit.”
The Lord’s Supper is given to us for the forgiveness of our sins to those who believe. Jesus’ blood was shed so that my sins can be forgiven. I think we should partake of the body and blood of the Lord as often as we can so that we can be reminded of the significant thing he has done for us, and so that my sins can be forgiven.
The assurance of everlasting life that I will get when I receive the Lord’s Supper makes me confident today because now I don’t have to worry. As for the future, I won’t be anxious about what’s going to happen because I know that I will have life forever with Jesus.
Therefore, we should thank God for giving us baptism. I think we should also thank Him for giving us the Lord’s Supper. Both of these things deliver the full forgiveness of my sins, which leads to eternal life. I think we really shouldn’t take the benefits He’s given to us for granted. Where would we be if we weren’t saved by his grace? |
