Freed Slaves

We're all slaves to something. What is it that enslaves you? Think for a moment. Go ahead. Think about it. I'll be right here when you're finished thinking...

What was at the top of your list? I bet it wasn't righteousness. We're too captivated by our sin and sinfulness. We daily find ourselves enslaved to the things of this world. We're chained to them. We can't release ourselves. We're bound to them. Sometimes it feels hopeless.

But this Sunday's Epistle Lesson from Romans chapter 6 says that slaves to sin is what we WERE. It is no longer what we ARE. Jesus has freed us from slavery to sin. He has made us slaves to righteousness forevermore. His death and resurrection have free us from slavery to sin, death, and the devil.

Come to church on Sunday and learn how. You will be glad you did. You will leave the sanctuary forgiven and free to live the life our Lord intended you to live.

Pray that Mt. Calvary would be a ministry committed to preaching the freedom that we have in the forgiveness of Christ! Bring others to Sunday morning worship at Mt. Calvary so that they receive freedom from the guilt that so often detroys! Tell others about the freedom we have because we belong to Christ!
