A Holy Nation

Recently someone made the comment to me that our slumping economy and higher gas prices are the result of America turning away from the Lord, and retribution for the way our nation has treated "others." Maybe, maybe not.

One thing, however, IS certain. As much as we'd like to think so, the United States is NOT a "holy nation." It doesn't take much to see that. Look at our schools. Turn on the TV. Read the newspaper. And yet we Christians cannot exempt ourselves from being part of the "sinful society." We are sinners, like everyone else, and sometimes add to the "decline."

But come to church on Sunday and learn how the Lord has made and consecrated a new nation within this nation to be holy for Him. By the blood of Jesus He has set apart believers to be a non-geographical "holy nation." It means that we are set apart BY Him, FOR Him, and TO Him. We have been made holy by the grace of a Savior who gave His life.

Pray that Mt. Calvary would be a "holy nation" in the Sherman Park community! Bring others to Mt. Calvary so that they, too, will be "set apart" by, for, and to the Lord! Tell others about the "holy nation" God has made for Himself by purchasing us with the blood of Jesus!
