Shelter from the Storm
By Pastor Eggebrecht @ 9:25 AM :: 311 Views :: 0 Comments :: Article Rating :: Pastors Message

Although storms, in and of themselves, are not evil things, they can cause evil consequences. Remember the rain storms of last June? Who could ever forget the pictures of houses being swept away when Lake Delton emptied out?

Whether physical, spiritual, or emotional, storms will come our way. The evil consequences can wreak havoc with our lives. It is then that we do what the disciples did when a storm came up on the Sea of Galilee: wake Jesus up, pray to Him, seek His help and comfort...and He will provide.

After all, He broke all the power of evil and its consequences when He hung dead on the cross and then rose again. You received all the benefits of those sacred acts when you were baptized into His name.

So when the storms come...and they will...turn to Him in prayer. Don't be surprised when the storm dies down behind you, and He calls forth your faith and belief through His strong Word of promise.

Pray for Mt. Calvary, that our church would weather all the storms that the devil would send our way! Bring others to church at Mt. Calvary, where they will find shelter from the storms of their own lives! Tell others about a God who calms the storms and calls forth faith!
